Cheese Cake

*sigh* Found a recipe for a simple cheesecake. And here's the dangerous part: It taste soo good. Seriously. I like cheesecake that tends to be on the salty side, and the simple side - no fancy ones for me. So I've been making these religiously.

Thankfully I came to my senses and stop making these all the time. They are so addictive it will be dangerous to my weight. :P

I mean look at it! How can you resist taking a bite?

Christmas in... April?

Naaahhh.... Made these cupcake sets for Christmas last December 08. :)

I found these mini cupcake boxes and decided to go into cupcake baking craze... (Well not really. It was finals week and I was sick of studying for the finals. So I ended up in the kitchen - playing :)

So for the first batch, I made 10 (Yes, TEN) dozens of these sets. Each dozen is for my groupmates in class (they have been dealing with me all semester. They deserve some sweets... lol... :)

For the second batch, I made 5 more dozen for a Christmas dinner I was attending with my family - one for each family attending.

Oh and of course I have to make extra cupcakes in addition to those 15 dozens... some cupcake were gone in the process of decorating *eaten by my bf and my sisters* These are the chocolate wiids by the way :)

They were a big hit :) Here's a closer look at two of the mini cupcakes (I just love the box holder! See how they have 2 holes for your fingers to pick up the cupcakes? Genius!)

And here's two more. The snowman is personally my favorite. He's just too cute. :D

Time consuming? Yes. Worth every minute? Heck yeah! :D

The drum cake

For some reason I forgot to take a picture of this cake using a real camera -_-.... *Hence the blurry image from my cellphone* This was in December 2008.

This is the second cake I baked for the ocassion - The first trial ended up in the trash can because the flour turns out to be bad.... Aiya...

Anyways. It's a chocolate cake in the shape of a drum for H - he plays the drum *doh* And those drumsticks? Pocky with marshmallow end... heh heh heh... too cute :)

And as far as the writing on the top of the cake: I'm trying to present and inside joke :)

And yesss the cake is sort of messy. I woke up late :$... (That's what you get when you decorate in such a hurry... just trying to get it done -_-) Lesson learned: Plan for enough decorating time!
But the birthday boy and everyone said the cake taste good :) The recipe is a keeper! :D

E's Birthday Cake! Revengeee!

A soccer ball? :)

You bet it is! This is for E's b-day cake November 2008 :) *as you can guess, he loves soccer* This is to make up for that failed cake last year... hahaha...

I'm so happy with the result of this cake. Even E was wowed by it :) *He's not easily impressed... which is good, he always challenge me to improve*

Oh and as an extra I made a miniature of him... ok I admit it didn't look like him.. lol... He said it looked like Ruud Gullit (and I agree) hahaha.... hey 1st time for everything!

See the little guy *he gave a thumbs up ;)* and the cake... lol... I love this cake ;)

P's Birthday Cake, Part 2

So I ended up making another cake for P... to bring to church. This is how it looked from the sides

And from the top. Nothing too fancy, I didn't have that much time to do the cake like last time (Plus I'm still recovering from all the horror of the last cake) Now that I think about it... it's so Indo :P So many roses...
And this is how it looked at church, being cut up. At least the cake made it through in 1 piece :D Yay! It's Red Velvet Cake with Chocolate buttercream. *By request of the birthday gal* :)

As a side note: Linda said that every cake decorator always have that one time curse when the cake didn't make it *like my case - it fell!*... I guess its good that I got my curse early :) heh heh heh....

P's Birthday Cake, Part 1

This... was supposed to be P's birthday cake back in November 2008. Oh I was prepared this time. Made sure there was enough icings, created the royal icing daisies and the colorflow butterflies (P likes butterflies) days in advance, and made sure I was in no rush for the D-day. Nothing can go wrong. Or so I thought.

Well first, let me show you the sides of the cake. See the work I put into this cake? :S....

So. I was about to transport the cake. *I didn't bake it at home... it was supposed to be a surprise*. Placed it carefully on the box and walked outside to the car. It rained just hours ago (see where I'm going). And the road was slippery.

Well guess what? I slipped. :'( I FELL!

The cake box went flying out of my hands, and right to the ground - 3/4 the cake spilling outside. Smushed.

And I was kneeling on the ground. Speechless. I think I stayed on the ground for a minute or so... :P

Well... luckily I also baked these mini cupcakes *again as a favor / to pass around*

A close up....
So this ended up as her birthday cake T_T.....

You can imagine how upset I am the whole night.... :(

PS: Was so glad I took pictures of the cake already - another thing I learned: Take picture of the cake IMMEDIATELY :).
Oh and the funny thing is *now*, hours before the cake incident, my mom was like "Careful bringing the cake!" (Gee....-_-'....)

Fondant Present Cake

Made the cake in class back in October 2008 :) My first fondant covered cake, heh heh :)

It's yellow cake with chocolate chips. For some reason, during baking, all the chocolate chips in the batter sunk to the bottom half -_-... oh well... taste good though :)

My 24th Birthday Cupcakes

So now I'm having too much fun playing with the cupcakes.

Back at Sept 2008, We're going out to celebrate my birthday @ Cheesecake Factory - I decided to create some cute favors for those who attend it :)

This is how they look:

And this is how the panda and the bear looks like on its own ;)

Oh and I made this for C too: As a thanks for setting up the whole dinner :) (It's based on the Monokuro Boo characters - the black and white piggies she likes so much :)

PS: I got a feedback though... perhaps it's not a good idea to make the cupcake so cute... A friend said that he kept the cupcake for months in the fridge... untouched... -_-.... He said it's "Too cute too eat!"... hmm......
